Butwal, Feb. 16 -- A House of Representatives candidate from Rupandehi-3 representing the Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal (JSP-N) has joined the CPN-UML.

Shreeniwas Yadav, who had filed his candidacy from the constituency, announced on Monday that he had withdrawn his nomination and resigned from the party. However, the deadline for withdrawing nominations has already passed.

In a statement, Yadav said that although he had registered his candidacy and begun reaching out to voters, the current national situation required political stability and a political outlet, which he said the UML could provide as a major political force.
