Kathmandu, Jan. 4 -- The inquiry commission formed to investigate use of force and violent incidents during the Gen Z uprising on September 8-9, has formally summoned CPN-UML chair KP Sharma Oli, who was prime minister at the time, to record his statement on the issue.

Commission member Bigyan Raj Sharma confirmed that the inquiry panel delivered the letter to Oli at his residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur on Sunday. The commission has given the former prime minister seven days to respond.

The commission completed the interrogation of former home minister Ramesh Lekhak last Wednesday.
