Kathmandu, April 22 -- The National Examinations Board on Tuesday postponed the grade 12 examinations by 10 days due to the ongoing Kathmandu-centric protests by community school teachers.
The exams, initially scheduled to begin on Thursday, will now start on May 4.
"The exams have been deferred by 10 days," said Krishna Sharma, examination controller at the NEB. "They will now be conducted from May 4 onwards as per the current timetable."
The decision to defer the exams came after widespread criticism of the board's earlier plan to move ahead with the examinations despite the teachers' protest.
