Kathmandu, May 29 -- Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel on Thursday presented a Rs1.964 trillion budget estimate for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26, beginning mid-July.
The government had unveiled a Rs1.86 trillion budget last year.
Addressing a joint session of the Federal Parliament, Minister Paudel said the government has earmarked Rs1.180 trillion-or 60.1 percent of the total budget-for recurrent expenditure. Capital expenditure has been set at Rs407.69 billion (20.8 percent), while Rs375.24 billion (19.1 percent) has been allocated for financial management.
