Kathmandu, Feb. 1 -- Gold and silver prices fell in local markets on Sunday compared with Friday as the market opened.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association, a tola (11.663 grams) of fine gold is being traded at Rs300,000, registering a deline by Rs18,8000.

Likewise, silver is priced at Rs5,500. On Friday, gold was traded at Rs318,800 per tola and silver at Rs7,065.

Earlier last week, gold reached a record Rs339,300 per tola on Thursday, while silver was Rs7,505.

Internationally, one ounce of gold was trading at $4,893.2 and silver at $85.34 at the time of this writing.
