Biratnagar, May 9 -- Binod Basnet, former chairman of Jhapa Gold Cup, was found dead at his home on Friday. According to the police, Basnet was found hanging inside his room at Birtamode Municipality-1.

Entrepreneur Basnet, 52, was actively engaged in various organisations and activities related to business and social sectors.

He previously served as the chairman of the Jhapa Gold Cup organising committee, vice president of the JCI Nepal National Executive Committee, and president of both the Birata JCI and the Rotary Club of Birtamode.
