Kathmandu, July 30 -- Authorities have issued alerts after a sudden rise in the water level of the Bhotekoshi river, which flows into Nepal from Tibet through Rasuwagadhi.
According to Dhruva Prasad Adhikari, assistant chief dstrict officer of Rasuwa, the river's flow began increasing from around 2am on Wednesday. "We have already issued warnings urging residents of low-lying areas to remain cautious," he said.
The flood has swept away part of the road under construction near the Rasuwagadhi border point, where Chinese authorities were preparing to install a Bailey bridge.
The flood also damaged a weighing station located at the Timure customs yard.
