Kathmandu, Jan. 22 -- Around 150,000 election police personnel will be appointed on January 29 and deployed from February 8 to provide security for the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.

The election police-previously known as temporary police-will be mobilised under the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force (APF).

Deputy Inspector General of police Abi Narayan Kafle, spokesperson of Nepal Police, said that the selected recruits will be issued appointment letters on January 29, followed by 10 days of basic training. After a further 10 days, they will be deployed to their designated areas from February 8.
