Kathmandu, Nov. 18 -- The Election Commission has denied claims circulating that outsiders accessed its website and stole voter information.

In a statement issued on Monday, the commission said there has been no unauthorised entry into its website or voter information system. It said the system remains secure and is continuously monitored by its information technology team.

The commission said the PDF files being shared were officially distributed in the past to election offices and political parties, and contain only basic voter details, not sensitive or confidential personal data.
