Bhaktapur, Jan. 23 -- A clash among inmates at the juvenile correction centre in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, left eight inmates injured on Thursday night, police said.

Superintendent of Police Surya Bahadur Khadka, chief of the Bhaktapur District Police Range, said the clash began around 9:45pm inside the facility. Some police personnel were also injured while trying to bring the situation under control.

Police said the injured were taken to Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital. Seven have been discharged, while one remains under treatment.

The correction centre houses 169 inmates, of whom around 75 are over 18. Police said the clash started among those inmates.
