Kathmandu, Aug. 25 -- On Wednesday evening, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Marcel Guehi, 35, of Ivory Coast, with 1.6 kg cocaine at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

The confiscated cocaine was worth around Rs 48 million, said SP Krishna Prasai, spokesperson at NCB.

Guehi's arrest is the latest in a series of such crimes. Over the past three years, 13,919 smugglers-including foreigners-were detained from various places of Nepal, data provided by the NCB shows.
