Kathmandu, Dec. 10 -- Customs clearance resumed on Wednesday after customs agents called off their countrywide protest.
The halt had begun on Tuesday when agents stopped work, saying several provisions in the Customs Act 2025 undermined their professional rights, made their work more difficult and created conditions that could hinder international trade.
The protest was withdrawn on Wednesday after talks between the Department of Customs and the Federation of Customs Agents ended positively. Clearance work restarted soon after the agreement.
