Kathmandu, March 29 -- The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, lifted the curfew in the Baneshwar-Tinkune stretch and surrounding areas from 7am on Saturday.

The curfew was initially enforced from 4:25pm to 10pm on Friday after pro-monarchy protesters vandalised and set fire to private homes, shops, media houses, political party offices, and government property. Later, authorities extended the restriction until Saturday morning.

The order had prohibited movement, gatherings, and protests in areas from Gaushala to Tribhuvan International Airport, Gairigaun, Tinkune, Koteshwar, Jadibuti Bridge, Balkumari Bridge, Baneshwar Chowk, Shankhamul Bridge, and New Baneshwar Chowk.
