Kathmandu, Aug. 4 -- Twenty-six percent children under five years of age in Bagmati Province missed out on the measles-rubella vaccine campaign launched this year. It is the lowest coverage compared to other provinces across the country, according to the Immunisation Section of the Family Welfare Division under the Department of Health Services.

The data shows that only 74 percent of children in the Bagmati Provinces were immunised against measles and rubella.

The vaccination coverage rate, according to the data, is 99 percent in Province 1, 94 percent in Sudurpaschim Province and 87 percent in Gandaki Province. In Province 2, the coverage target exceeded the target by 34 percent and by 4 percent in Province 5 and Karnali Province.
