Kathmandu, June 17 -- The Kathmandu District Court on Monday ordered the release of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) senior vice-chair Rabindra Mishra on a bail of Rs300,000 in connection with the violent pro-monarchy protest held in Tinkune on March 28.
According to court spokesperson Deepak Kumar Shrestha, a single bench of Judge Tara Devi Maharjan issued the release order after Mishra appeared before the court to respond to charges of sedition, criminal mischief, organised crime, among others.
The court had previously declared Mishra and RPP general secretary Dhawal Shamsher Rana absconding after both failed to appear before authorities despite multiple summons. Their legal guarantors were fined Rs25,000 each earlier this month for f...
