Kathmandu, June 2 -- The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday filed a corruption case against Dirgha Bahadur Sodari, former chief minister of Sudurpaschim Province, at the Special Court.

The anti-graft body charged Sodari with accusations of amassing property disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Sodari, who was elected to the Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly from Kailali 4(1) representing the CPN (Unified Socialist), had served as chief minister from April to August 2024. He was appointed with the backing of the CPN-UML, the CPN (Maoist Centre), Nagarik Unmukti Party, and an independent lawmaker.
