Parsa, Sept. 6 -- The number of cholera cases in Parsa district has started to decrease, health officials said on Saturday.
Dr Uday Narayan Singh, spokesperson for Narayani Hospital, said only 28 new patients with diarrhoea and cholera were admitted in the past 24 hours, reflecting a gradual decline in cases.
"Data from the past three to four days show a slowing in the number of new patients. If this trend continues, the total number of cases could drop significantly within a week," he said.
Singh said that wards 12 and 13 of Birgunj Metropolitan City, which initially saw the highest number of infections, have reported almost no new cholera or diarrhoea cases, of late.
