Kathmandu, Jan. 17 -- A Chinese man is under observation in a Kathmandu hospital after he was quarantined with a mystery strain of coronavirus, according to officials, days after the World Health Organisation alerted the Health Ministry about the possible risk of transmission of the virus.

Dr Basudev Pandey, director at Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Control Hospital, Teku, confirmed to the Post on Friday that a Chinese man was brought to the hospital after he was suspected to have been infected with the new strain of coronavirus. "He is under observation at the hospital," Pandey told the Post.
