Kathmandu, May 5 -- The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has officially lifted the suspension imposed on cricketer Mohammad Aadil Ansari, clearing the way for his return to domestic and international cricket.
According to CAN spokesperson Chhumbi Lama, the decision to revoke the ban, effective from May 4, was based on the findings of CAN's Integrity Committee, which reviewed the Kathmandu District Court's verdict acquitting Ansari of all spot-fixing charges.
Ansari had been under suspension since allegations emerged of his involvement in spot-fixing during the Nepal T20 League, held from December 24, 2022, to January 11, 2023.
He was accused under CAN's anti-corruption code and barred from participating in any official matches.
