Manang, Nov. 21 -- Chame road in Manang reopened on Friday afternoon, nearly seven hours after a landslide blocked the section at Tal Danda in ward 1 of Nason Rural Municipality.

The landslide occurred at around 7am. Officials said the road remained closed after a large boulder fell during the clearance work. Chief District Officer Nawaraj Paudyal said one of the two large boulders was removed and debris cleared, allowing traffic to resume at about 2.15pm.

Excavators from the Manang Marsyangdi Hydropower Project were used to clear the section. With the reopening, foreign and domestic trekkers on the Annapurna Circuit, along with other travellers, continued towards their destinations.
