Pokhara, Feb. 2 -- Bangladesh registered a comfortable 2-0 victory over India in the SAFF U19 Women's Championship match played at Pokhara Stadium on Monday.
Captain Arpita Biswas and Alpi Akter were on target for Bangladesh, who dominated proceedings from the outset and secured the win with two first-half goals.
Bangladesh took the lead in the 29th minute when Arpita Biswas found the back of the net following sustained pressure. The visitors doubled their advantage in the 40th minute through Alpi Akter, leaving India trailing 2-0 at half-time.
Both teams created a few chances after the break, but neither side managed to add to the scoreline. Bangladesh's goalkeeper and defensive line remained solid to preserve the clean sheet.
