Nepal, June 2 -- Of the 89 people diagnosed with Covid-19 in Dailekh, the highest in Karnali Province, only 34 are placed at isolation wards as on Monday. The district has a capacity of only 40 isolation beds, informs Yubaraj Kattel, chief district officer of Dailekh. "The number of the infected continues to rise. We are discussing how to manage the situation," he said.

The confusion about the management of the situation prevails in the province's other districts too. The province has seen a rapid spike of the cases over the past week, with 198 infected as of Monday. According to data from the provincial Ministry of Social Development, the province currently has a cumulative capacity of 550 isolation beds.
