Dhankuta, Feb. 17 -- Police seized 955 kilograms of marijuana from Baradanda in ward 20 of Dharan Municipality on Tuesday. Two men were detained in connection with the seizure.
The contraband was being transported from Chandi Bazar in Dhankuta towards Sunsari district, possibly en route to India.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhishan Babu Rai of the Area Police Office, Dharan, officers stopped two suspicious vehicles heading towards Bishnupaduka and recovered the drugs during inspection.
Police arrested 28-year-old Sandip Kumar Majhi of ward 8 of Kolhabi Municipality in Bara and 33-year-old Nagendra Raj Shrestha of ward 8 of Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu.
