Kathmandu, July 27 -- The auction of domestic players for the second season of the Nepal Premier League will take place on August 9, the Cricket Association of Nepal announced on Saturday.

According to the governing body of cricket in Nepal, 458 Nepali cricketers have registered themselves for the auction. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) had called interested players for registrations on July 12, with the deadline on July 22.

"The details of the registered players have been made available to the eight franchises," CAN said in a press statement. "The auction will see players based on the standards set by the technical committee of CAN and the wishlist of the franchises."
