Kathmandu, Aug. 6 -- The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has shortlisted 150 national players for the auction of the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), scheduled for August 9.

According to CAN spokesperson Chhumbi Lama, 458 players registered for the auction process, which was open between July 12 and July 22. The association's technical committee finalised the list of 150 players based on set criteria.

"The shortlisted players have been selected according to the standards laid out by our technical team," the statement said.

Meanwhile, foreign player recruitment will not go through the auction. Franchises will have full authority to sign overseas players independently.
