Baglung, Dec. 3 -- At least 14 people were killed and three others injured in a jeep accident in Baglung district on Tuesday. One passenger has gone missing.

There were 18 people onboard the vehicle, police said.

According to DSP Jhabindra Prasad Bhattarai, the jeep (Ga 1 Kha 4219) heading towards Baglung from Ishma of Gulmi district skidded off the road near Bhimghdi and plunged into Badigaga river along the mid-hill highway.

Police suspect the cause of the accident to be overload. Security personnel from Area Police Office Burtibang, Bhimgothe police post and the locals have been engaged in rescue operation.
