Taplejung, Feb. 20 -- A clash broke out between the 'No Cable Car' group and security forces in Taplejung on Thursday afternoon, resulting in 12 people being injured, including security personnel. The clash occurred as protesters, who have been opposing the Pathibhara cable car project, attempted to march towards the construction site. In response, Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force (APF) intervened, leading to the confrontation.
The security forces fired 7 rounds of tear gas at the protesting group to take the situation under control. According to Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma, the injured included 11 security personnel, with one protester also sustaining injuries.
