UDHAMPUR, March 19 -- In a major success against drug trafficking, a team of Police Station Udhampur, while conducting random vehicle checking at Jakhani Naka, intercepted a Tata Ace vehicle (UP12AT-6380) coming from the Kashmir side towards Udhampur. The vehicle was driven by Haseen S/O Nafees, R/O Baghra, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.
During the search, two plastic gunny bags were found concealed inside empty vegetable crates in the back of the vehicle. Upon checking, a total of 40 kg of poppy straw-like substance was recovered from the possession of the accused. He was immediately arrested on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 83/2025 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
