UDHAMPUR, April 30 -- In a continued crackdown on illegal bovine smuggling, Udhampur Police successfully intercepted three vehicles at Jakhani Naka point, rescuing 35 bovines being transported in a cruel and inhumane manner. Three accused have been arrested and three vehicles seized in separate cases.
A vehicle bearing registration number JK18A-4996 was intercepted by a team from Police Station Udhampur. The driver, Mohd. Mushtaq, son of Rashid Khari, resident of Devsar, Kulgam, was arrested. 12 bovines were rescued.
FIR No. 148/2025 under sections 223 BNS and 11 PCA Act has been registered.
