Udhampur, Jan. 29 -- Udhampur Police has foiled a bovine smuggling attempt at Motor Shed Nakka under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chenani.
A police party of PS Chenani intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK19A-9727 for checking. During inspection, 12 bovines were found being transported illegally in a cruel manner in the said vehicle.
During enquiry, the driver disclosed his name as Jahangir Mohd Kasim S/O Mohd Kasim R/O Pernote, Ramban. The accused failed to produce any valid permission.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 11/2026 under Sections 223 BNS and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani and further investigation is underway.
