UDHAMPUR, March 7 -- In a major success against drug trafficking, Udhampur Police have arrested three drug peddlers in separate operations and established a backward link to a supplier in an ongoing NDPS case.

A team from Police Station Rehambal, during a naka (checkpoint) operation at Phlata, intercepted a suspicious individual. The suspect, identified as Rahul Sharma, son of Parmanand Sharma, resident of Sambal, Udhampur, was frisked, leading to the recovery of 5.2 grams of heroin-like contraband along with a polypouch. He was arrested on the spot.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 35/2025 registered at Police Station Rehambal under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.
