Udhampur, July 15 -- PS Majalta received a complaint from Smt. Bandana Rajput R/O Majalta, alleging that an unknown person posing as a gas stove repairman duped her by offering to clean her gold ornaments using chemicals, causing loss in weight.
Acting swiftly, FIR No. 59/2025 U/S 316(2), 318(2), 318(4), 324(4) BNS was registered at PS Majalta and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation the police team of PS Majalta led by SHO Majalta arrested the accused namely Subodh Sah R/O Bhagalpur Bihar within 24 hours.
Investigation revealed his modus operandi involved extracting gold content by dissolving it chemically while pretending to clean it causing loss in weight and secretly extracting the dissolved gold for himself...
