SAMBA, May 19 -- In a continued crackdown on illegal bovine smuggling, the Samba Police successfully foiled an attempt to transport bovines unlawfully in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh. Acting swiftly on credible intelligence, police apprehended two alleged smugglers and rescued four bovines being transported under inhumane conditions.
According to police sources, a team from PS Ramgarh, led by the Station House Officer (SHO), intercepted an auto load carrier bearing registration number JK02CW-1995 at Jhang during a routine check. Upon inspection, four bovines were found tied cruelly and being transported without the requisite permissions, in clear violation of animal welfare norms and transport regulations.
