UDHAMPUR, Feb. 15 -- In a major crackdown against bovine smuggling, the Udhampur District Police successfully foiled two smuggling attempts in separate incidents at Majalta and Chenani, rescuing a total of eight bovines. A police team from Police Station Majalta, led by the Station House Officer (SHO), intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK14K-5886 at Battal Naka Point during a routine vehicle checking drive. Upon inspection, five bovines were found crammed inside the vehicle, tied in a cruel manner, and being transported illegally without valid permission.
