Jammu, May 24 -- The Traffic Police City Jammu successfully concluded a three-day "Awareness-cum-Enforcement" drive targeting vehicles with low Visual Light Transmission (VLT) levels, in strict compliance with Supreme Court guidelines.
The initiative aims to improve passenger safety by ensuring clear visibility inside vehicles, preventing crimes such as eve-teasing, theft, and snatching.
The drive was based on the Supreme Court ruling in Avishek vs. Union of India (2012), which mandates that front and rear windscreens must have at least 70% VLT, while windows should maintain a minimum of 50% VLT.
