KATHUA, Dec. 10 -- The Rural Traffic Police on Wednesday launched a special drive against traffic violators and challaned 30 vehicles, realising a fine of ?55,000 for various violations. The team also seized four motorcycles and one car found plying without valid documents, and issued challans to two vehicles using pressure horns.

The drive was conducted under the directions of SSP Rural Farooq Qaiser and led by DTI Kathua Inspector Rakesh Kumar. The checking was carried out along the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway and adjoining routes in Kathua.
