Udhampur, Nov. 26 -- Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Ms. Saloni Rai IAS and the overall supervision of District Child Protection Officer Udhampur Ms. Kanika Gupta, JKAS, a successful rescue operation was conducted on 25-11-2025.
The operation rescued a 16 year-old minor girl from a child marriage in Rasli Gadheran area of Tehsil Basantgarh.
A call was received on 1098 Child Helpline on 24-11-2025, reporting the child marriage. The Child Helpline promptly verified the case and, upon receiving documentary evidence, confirmed the child's age as 16 years.
