Jammu, July 14 -- The prestigious artificial lake project over river Tawi has failed to make any significant progress during the past over five years, which mocks at the self-proclaimed champions of Jammu' cause the Bharatiya Janta Party leadership, which has failed to get it completed.

The artificial lake project over River Tawi at Belicharana area was approved by the then Governor Jagmohan in 1986 but after a long delay the Union Government had approved the project under Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (AIBP) to the tune of Rs 50 Crore in the year 2010. Later the cost was revised to the tune of Rs 70 Crore but the project jumped the first deadline of July 2012, which was later revised to July 2013 and many more times.
