Jammu, July 10 -- Following the footsteps of ministers of elected governments, a senior bureaucrat has retained a junior assistant from another department as his special assistant.

Sources in the Civil Secretariat informed Early Times that a Class-IV employee, who was promoted as junior assistant, has been appointed by a senior bureaucrat as his special assistant. "The senior bureaucrat instead of utilizing the services of highly qualified employees or the administrative officers available in the department has preferred this individual from a different department," they added.
