JAMMU, June 25 -- Senior Citizens Joy Society solemnly observed the Martyrdom Day of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, paying rich and heartfelt tributes to the great nationalist, educationist, thinker, and founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, who sacrificed his life for the unity and integrity of India. Dr Shreyansh Kumar Jain Chairman senior citizens Joy Society & State Yoga Commissioner addressed recalling the historical significance of June 23, 1953, the day when Dr. Mookerjee died under mysterious circumstances while in custody in Jammu & Kashmir. He had entered the state without a permit, defying the then-prevailing rule which required Indian citizens to seek permission to enter their own country's territory.
