SAMBA, March 25 -- In a major crackdown on narcotics smuggling, Samba Police arrested a Punjab-based drug smuggler and seized ?7.46 lakh in cash along with 20 grams of heroin-like substance near AIIMS Vijaypur.

During a routine vehicle checking naka, a motorcycle (JK08P-3662) was intercepted by a Police team led by SHO PS Vijaypur, under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur and overall command of SSP Samba. Upon checking, the contraband and cash were recovered from the possession of the rider.

Residence: Village Lauka, Tehsil Patti, District Tarn Taran (Punjab)

Further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and crackdown on the drug network in the region.
