Jammu, Sept. 25 -- Jammu and Kashmir administration has taken a serious note of the rising road accidents and has sought a detailed report from concerned departments over the measures taken to prevent mishaps.

The data reveals that there were as many as 8733 persons who got injured in 6067 road accidents in just three years. Deaths due to road accidents in J&K were also high compared to many other states. The number of persons dying in road accidents in the same period was 892, that means almost 300 deaths every year.
