REASI, May 28 -- Continuing its special drive against the menace of bovine smuggling, Reasi Police successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines at Nau Devian Naka today.
During routine naka checking at Nau Devian, a suspicious vehicle bearing registration number JK11E-7954, en route from Reasi towards Katra, was stopped for checking. However, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot, leaving it at the naka point.
Upon inspection, 07 bovines were found cruelly loaded in the vehicle, being transported illegally without the mandatory permission from the District Magistrate.
