RAJOURI, Feb. 15 -- The District Administration Rajouri, in collaboration with the Police Department, organized a daylong awareness program today at the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak Bungalow to educate the public about the three newly enacted criminal laws-Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). These laws, which came into effect on July 1, 2024, replace the colonial-era Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and Indian Evidence Act (IEA).
The program aimed to generate awareness among the masses regarding these transformative laws and their role in modernizing the criminal justice system.
