SRINAGAR, Feb. 2 -- Kashmir plains lashed by intermittent rains while some higher reaches including tourist destinations of Gulmarg and Pahalgam received yet another light spell of snowfall overnight, officials said. Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, and other parts of the valley received light intermittent rainfall during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Some parts of Jammu also received light rainfall overnight.
The Ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir's Baramulla district received 5.1cm of snowfall, Pahalgam 2.8cm and Kupwara 2.5cm of snowfall during the period, the Meteorological Department Srinagar said.
