JAMMU, Aug. 28 -- Celebrating 11 years of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Vice President of BJP Jammu & Kashmir, Rekha Mahajan, lauded the flagship scheme as a revolutionary step in India's journey from financial inclusion to financial dignity.
Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PMJDY has played a transformative role in connecting every household to the formal banking system, ensuring access to credit, insurance, and pension facilities.
Rekha Mahajan highlighted that the scheme now boasts over 56 crore accounts, with more than 56% held by women and two out of every three accounts opened in rural and semi-urban areas.
