Srinagar, July 4 -- Amid the scorching heat, residents in various parts of Kashmir are experiencing an acute shortage of drinking water.

They have accused the authorities concerned of being indifferent to their problems amid the hot weather.

"Things have gone from bad to the worse for the last few weeks. We get tap water only for a few hours during night hours," Mudasir Ahmad, a resident of Shalimar said.

He said most of the inhabitants were using water motors during the night hours to get some water.

Residents of Jammalatta Srinagar Saturday protested against water scarcity. They also blocked the traffic movement.
