KUPWARA, Nov. 16 -- Army on Monday said that Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar Sector of this north Kashmir district.

According to Srinagar based defence spokesperson, Col Rajesh Kalia, "Pakistan fired mortars and other weapons this evening, and own troops are giving them befitting response.

Sources said that the incident comes three days after five soldiers and four civilians were killed in multiple ceasefire violations along the LoC in the north Kashmir. Despite passing of three days, fear still looms large here.

Many people have shifted from here to other nearby places in Kupwara town, some have not yet come out of their homes, sources told early times.
