JAMMU, May 31 -- Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta has welcomed the Central Government's decision to hike the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy for the upcoming Kharif marketing season 2025-26. Terming it a "big relief" for farmers, he hailed the move as a bold and pro-farmer step by the Modi government aimed at strengthening the agricultural economy.

Notably, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved a 3% increase in the MSP of paddy, taking it to Rs 2,369 per quintal.
