MALIGAON, Nov. 18 -- Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) continues to strengthen its commitment towards renewable energy by steadily expanding solar capacity across the zone. As on 31st October 2025, NFR has installed a cumulative total of 11.95 MWp rooftop solar capacities since year 2011, at important stations, offices, workshops and service buildings of its divisions, i.e. Katihar, Alipurduar, Rangiya, Lumding, Tinsukia. Also, these installations were carried out at NFR Headquarter at Maligaon and its workshops. This initiative forms a key part of Indian Railways' mission towards enhancing green energy adoption and reduce reliance on conventional power sources.
